Park Medical Research is a site I have created to display my medical ambition and passion. Here you will find blog posts, research articles, personal columns, and more. I started this journey into medicine recently, and hope to gain more experience and knowledge in science. I am currently a high school sophomore and have had specific medical conditions that led me to pursue medicine further. I was diagnosed with scoliosis, the abnormal lateral curvature of the spine, at the early age of twelve, and it had progressed sufficiently the following year. At age thirteen, the curvature in my spine had gone up to over fifty degrees, leaving me no choice but to undergo a spinal fusion surgery. The concept of the experience was so foreign to me, leaving me in a state of skepticism. The years following the spinal fusion were a period of mindset growth; it led to my mission to become a figure of medicine to aid patience in the face of uncertainty. I am currently working on my first article on idiopathic scoliosis, and the numerous ideologies and theories for the causes of the spinal condition. Updates coming soon.
